Makes sure that a program-me or production goes according to plan and that everyone involved in the programme — presenters, camera crew, guests and audience — knows what they have to do and when they have to do it.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Moving and handling of props and sets during in-house and on-location productions (this could mean assisting in moving heavy equipment)
- Helping plan and prepare the programme
- Supervising the setting up of equipment — screens, chairs, props, microphones and technical gear
- Running sound and lighting checks to make sure that equipment is working properly
- Giving cues and time counts to actors, presenters and technicians
- Telling the studio audience what to do
- Rehearsing live shows
- Liaising with the producer and director and relaying instructions between the control
room and studio staff - Dealing with technical problems and any last minute changes
- Checking on health and safety requirements.
- Maintain appearance of studios including cleaning of studio sets and floors
- Dress microphone’s and IFB’s for all on camera appearances
- Other duties as assigned by the TV Operations Director
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- A thorough understanding of television production is mandatory.
- Clear, concise and comprehensive verbal communication skills.
- Ability to think quickly in a pressure situation is a necessity.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude a must.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- one year experience in a similar position
- Diploma
